If you have always been impressed by rainbows, but you have been disappointed that they don’t last, let us show you how you can have a permanent rainbow very easy and fast!

But how can you do that?

No, it’s not complicated at all and you won’t waste a lot of money. You need:

  • a piece of black paper; black construction paper is also great, but glossy photographic paper used in ink jet printers works, too
  • a cake pan or a similar container that can hold water and has the right size to hold the flat piece of paper that you will place in the bottom; nonetheless, you can cut the piece of paper to size
  • clear fingernail polish
  • an eyedropper

The first thing you have to do is to place the paper in the bottom of the pan or in the container that you have.

Fill in with water until the paper is covered with at least a half of an inch of water.

Put the eyedropper in the nail polish bottle, but squeeze it just a little to get the air out of it. This way, you will have just half of an inch of nail polish into the eyedropper. Remember that you only need a single drop!

Drop a single and small drop of clear nail polish onto the surface of the water. You will see how your nail polish will spread and will make a circle of film on the water. The film is very thin, so you can hardly see it.

Source

Let the circle dry for a few minutes. You will know when this happens when you will see that its edges wrinkle and the centre will dry harder than the edges.

Source

Then, you have to lift carefully one end of the paper out of the water, but be sure that you will catch the edge of the circle onto the paper.

Let the water drip off the paper and then put the paper on a newspaper to dry.

Source

You can see the rainbow colors by holding the paper flat towards the light and look at it at a low angle.

Source

If you will use photographic paper, you will observe a nice and smooth surface with many rings of color. If you use more than one drop, then you will get double patterns, which also look amazing.

You can do this for your kids or even for yourself. It’s an easy process that relaxes you and develops your creativity.

[Facebook] [Twitter]

Everybody loves cake and sweets. If your child’s birthday is coming up, why not offer him/her something really special that will blow his mind. A cake doesn’t have to be shaped like a pirate or dragon to be incredible. A cake can be just be a yummy layer cake with plain white frosting. On the outside, it may look like a regular cake, but once you cut the first slice, you will realise that it is in fact the zaniest cake you have ever seen. Made with six rainbow layers this cake is not only delicious, but visually appealing as well.

Source

Looks delicious, right? Here is what you need in order to make this gorgeous cake:

  • 2 boxes of White Cake Mix
  • 4 drops of food colouring
  • 4 packages of cream cheese
  • 1 cup of butter
  • 5 cups of powdered sugar
  • 1 table spoon of vanilla

Instructions

  1. According to the directions on the white cake mix, make a cake mix. Separate the batter into three separate bowls with roughly one cup of cake mix per bowl. In these bowl, add the desired food colouring to each bowl.
  2. Bake the cakes in round pans according to the instructions. Just make sure you check the cake approximately 10 minutes before it is supposed to be done. If there is less mix in each pan, they can cook faster and you can proceed to the next step.
  3. Repeat the process for the remaining colours.
  4. For the frosting, mix together the softened butter and cream cheese until they are well combined. Add vanilla. Combine. Finally, slowly add in powder sugar.
  5. After the 5th cup of powdered sugar, taste the frosting to see if it is sweet enough.
  6. After all the layers are ready, level them with a large bread knife. This will prevent the cake from tilting, and when you cut it they will evenly display when you cut into it.
  7. Start with the purple layer first. Put the purple layer on your cake stand or plate. Add enough frosting to cover the layer and some to spill over the edges, anywhere from 1/2 to one cup of frosting. Run the flat, straight side of a knife around the cake to smooth out the edges.
  8. Add the blue layer on the cake. Put frosting in the middle, start spreading out the frosting with the flat, straight side of a knife so that is covers the cake and falls out over the edges. Then run the knife around the outside edge of the cake to smooth out the sides.
  9. Put the cake into the fridge for at least two hours or freeze for one hour.
  10. Repeat with green layer , then the yellow layer.
  11. Put the cake back in the fridge for at least two hour or freeze for one hour.
  12. Repeat with orange layer , then the red layer
  13. Cover the cake with frosting and run the flat, straight edge of a knife around the edges of the cake to smooth out the frosting.
  14. Once you have finished the cake, add any decorative touches or words that fit your occasion.

Good luck and bon appetit! You can use the food colouring for basically any type of dough. You can make rainbow coloured cupcakes, pancakes, jelly or any other type of sweet you want to bake. These sweets look amazing and taste delicious.
