Donald Ahrens, the author of a book about meteorology said that a rainbow is “one of the most spectacular light shows observed on earth”. A rainbow is an interesting phenomenon that causes a spectrum of light to appear in the sky. Rainbow colors are used for a lot of things, even for logo design.

Source

Creating a logo means creating a brand perception, a process that may be fairly difficult sometimes. Nonetheless, for a few logo designers this is fun and craze rather than a job.

Source

Some of them try to choose something to inspire audiences and rainbow colors are perfect. Logo designs based on the colors of the rainbow are vivid, nice and at the same time, they are different from the usually logos. Logo designers use a combination of rainbow colors and symbols to create a unique logo that communicates the brand’s message.

Source

Additionally, logos based on rainbow colors catch the eye, so there are increased chances to be noticed by people. The diversity of logos using rainbow colors is very wide, featuring a unique quality that compliments the brand and message.

Source

Details are also very important. A logo designer has to be careful because if details are not used properly, the result may be meaningless eye-candy rainbow logos.

Source

These logos have increased printing costs, but they look very trendy and are wonderful, colourful creations. They inspire, catch the eye and amaze.

Decorating Ideas for Your Child’s Room

Filed under: Rainbow Colors - 03 Sep 2012  | Spread the word !

[Facebook] [Twitter]

Everyone loves rainbows after the rain ends. This rainbow craft will brighten your child’s room even without the rain. It’s a simple and fun craft for kids to make and hang. You and your child can watch as the sun shines through it. Why not bring a little colour into your child’s room, with a rainbow window craft?

Here is what you need for your rainbow window craft:

  • clear plastic report cover, or other clear plastic sheet;
  • glue that dries clear;
  • beads in red, orange, yellow, green, dark blue, light blue, white or clear, and purple ribbons;
  • hole punch.

Source

Instructions to Make Your Rainbow Window Craft

  • Cut the clear report cover in half. On the top, at either side, use the hole punch to cut out a small hole. You will use these holes later to hang your rainbow craft.
  • Use the glue stick to create the top arc of the rainbow. Use the other half of the cover to press the beads in gently. Make sure not to spread the glue too thin. You don’t want the beads to fall off your rainbow.
  • Place the beads in separate containers. Sprinkle the red beads over the glue. Tip the plastic report cover slightly to pour any extra beads back into their container. If the bead container is small, you may want to tip the plastic over a piece of paper. This way, you can pick up the paper and bend it to slide the beads back into their container.
  • Continue this way until you have completed each band of your rainbow. Use the dark blue beads for the rainbow and the light blue beads for the sky. Wait between each band to allow the glue to dry.
  • In the extra space around the rainbow, swirl the glue in the shape of clouds. Sprinkle the white or clear beads over the glue and let them dry.
  • Cover the remaining empty areas with glue, and sprinkle the light blue beads to create the look of sky. Now, let the whole craft dry completely.
  • When you rainbow craft is dry, cut a length of ribbon and tie the ribbon to either side through the holes you punched earlier. Hang the picture in the bottom window using the window latch.

Your rainbow window craft is now complete. Watch as the sun glows through it on the next sunny day. Your rainbow window craft should look something like this:

Source

Have fun making this rainbow window craft and enjoy the many colours of the light. You can use the rainbow coloured beads to come up with basically any shape and size of window crafts, such as robots, fairies and much more!

Create Your Own Permanent Rainbow

Filed under: Rainbow Colors - 31 Jul 2012  | Spread the word !

[Facebook] [Twitter]

If you have always been impressed by rainbows, but you have been disappointed that they don’t last, let us show you how you can have a permanent rainbow very easy and fast!

But how can you do that?

No, it’s not complicated at all and you won’t waste a lot of money. You need:

  • a piece of black paper; black construction paper is also great, but glossy photographic paper used in ink jet printers works, too
  • a cake pan or a similar container that can hold water and has the right size to hold the flat piece of paper that you will place in the bottom; nonetheless, you can cut the piece of paper to size
  • clear fingernail polish
  • an eyedropper

The first thing you have to do is to place the paper in the bottom of the pan or in the container that you have.

Fill in with water until the paper is covered with at least a half of an inch of water.

Source

Put the eyedropper in the nail polish bottle, but squeeze it just a little to get the air out of it. This way, you will have just half of an inch of nail polish into the eyedropper. Remember that you only need a single drop!

Drop a single and small drop of clear nail polish onto the surface of the water. You will see how your nail polish will spread and will make a circle of film on the water. The film is very thin, so you can hardly see it.

Source

Let the circle dry for a few minutes. You will know when this happens when you will see that its edges wrinkle and the centre will dry harder than the edges.

Source

Then, you have to lift carefully one end of the paper out of the water, but be sure that you will catch the edge of the circle onto the paper.

Let the water drip off the paper and then put the paper on a newspaper to dry.

Source

You can see the rainbow colors by holding the paper flat towards the light and look at it at a low angle.

Source

If you will use photographic paper, you will observe a nice and smooth surface with many rings of color. If you use more than one drop, then you will get double patterns, which also look amazing.

You can do this for your kids or even for yourself. It’s an easy process that relaxes you and develops your creativity.

Amaze Your Kids with Rainbow Sweets

[Facebook] [Twitter]

Everybody loves cake and sweets. If your child’s birthday is coming up, why not offer him/her something really special that will blow his mind. A cake doesn’t have to be shaped like a pirate or dragon to be incredible. A cake can be just be a yummy layer cake with plain white frosting. On the outside, it may look like a regular cake, but once you cut the first slice, you will realise that it is in fact the zaniest cake you have ever seen. Made with six rainbow layers this cake is not only delicious, but visually appealing as well.

Source

Looks delicious, right? Here is what you need in order to make this gorgeous cake:

  • 2 boxes of White Cake Mix
  • 4 drops of food colouring
  • 4 packages of cream cheese
  • 1 cup of butter
  • 5 cups of powdered sugar
  • 1 table spoon of vanilla

Instructions

  1. According to the directions on the white cake mix, make a cake mix. Separate the batter into three separate bowls with roughly one cup of cake mix per bowl. In these bowl, add the desired food colouring to each bowl.
  2. Bake the cakes in round pans according to the instructions. Just make sure you check the cake approximately 10 minutes before it is supposed to be done. If there is less mix in each pan, they can cook faster and you can proceed to the next step.
  3. Repeat the process for the remaining colours.
  4. For the frosting, mix together the softened butter and cream cheese until they are well combined. Add vanilla. Combine. Finally, slowly add in powder sugar.
  5. After the 5th cup of powdered sugar, taste the frosting to see if it is sweet enough.
  6. After all the layers are ready, level them with a large bread knife. This will prevent the cake from tilting, and when you cut it they will evenly display when you cut into it.
  7. Start with the purple layer first. Put the purple layer on your cake stand or plate. Add enough frosting to cover the layer and some to spill over the edges, anywhere from 1/2 to one cup of frosting. Run the flat, straight side of a knife around the cake to smooth out the edges.
  8. Add the blue layer on the cake. Put frosting in the middle, start spreading out the frosting with the flat, straight side of a knife so that is covers the cake and falls out over the edges. Then run the knife around the outside edge of the cake to smooth out the sides.
  9. Put the cake into the fridge for at least two hours or freeze for one hour.
  10. Repeat with green layer , then the yellow layer.
  11. Put the cake back in the fridge for at least two hour or freeze for one hour.
  12. Repeat with orange layer , then the red layer
  13. Cover the cake with frosting and run the flat, straight edge of a knife around the edges of the cake to smooth out the frosting.
  14. Once you have finished the cake, add any decorative touches or words that fit your occasion.

Good luck and bon appetit! You can use the food colouring for basically any type of dough. You can make rainbow coloured cupcakes, pancakes, jelly or any other type of sweet you want to bake. These sweets look amazing and taste delicious.

[Facebook] [Twitter]

One of the fashion designers that conquered fame thanks to the online world, Romanian Diana Bobar, just launched a vivid and wonderful collection of dresses that look absolutely spectacular. Her inspiration were the rainbow colors, so she took them all and combined them in several ways to create an impressive collection that would turn on the shopping mode of every fashionista. The 24 year old designer wanted to prove that strong colors can be matched successfully. The details of the dresses are also interesting and eye catching: big applications or metallic zippers in complementary colors.

Source

The inspiration of the collection was the world that the young designers envisions. A world full of bright colors. She graduated from an art school, so she was eager to work with colors once again. As she decided that a collection of rainbow dresses was a thing she needed to do at least once in her career, Bobar bought perfect materials for flowy and surreal dresses. The fabrics used were personally selected by her: chiffon, organza, silk and light cotton.

Source

The sketches needed a lot of work and took a lot of time, but in the end, she managed to design the perfect collection she dreamed about. She envisioned light and summery dresses and she choose the materials first, to make sure these will inspire her. Once she had all them in her studio, it didn’t took too long to put on paper what she wanted to create in reality.

Source

Bobar wanted to have a collection of dresses that could be easily worn in the summer. She though of using the colors separately and also combined, so she also made a few collages where the collection can be admired arranged in the most logical possible order, on colors. In the picture bellow you can admire a small part of the collection being arranged in such a manner.

Source

The collection is a total success. Rainbow colors are perfect for the warm season and the dresses are made in an exceptional manner. The materials are excellent and the designs of all of them are beautiful. For young women, these dresses are perfect and as the designer intended, will make them look magical, like princesses from a fairy tale.

Rainbow Colors and Their Meaning

Filed under: Rainbow Colors - 17 Jul 2012  | Spread the word !

[Facebook] [Twitter]

The rainbow is always nice to look at. It can brighten everyone’s day with its beautiful colors. The rainbow colors are a nice treat for the eyes, since they transmit peace and serenity. What is the meaning of each color in particular, though? The colors of the rainbow are the following: red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, and violet. If you want to better remember them, always think about the acronym Roy G. Biv.

Source

Red is the rainbow color that has the longest wavelength, being also the nearest visible light to infrared in the electromagnetic spectrum. It refers to vitality and activity, but also to energy, security, enthusiasm, interest, and passion.

Orange is the color of creative energy, combining red and yellow. Just like red, orange is also a dynamic energy. However, it is more controlled and thoughtful. It means creativity, equilibrium, playfulness, relief from boredom, and exploration on a practical level.

Yellow is the color of wisdom. It is associated with the sun, therefore also brining about life giving and sustaining energy. With its brightness and light, yellow also means clarity of thought, better decision making skills, orderliness, and memory improvement. It also alleviates confusion.

Green is the color of life, nature and balance. It is a merger of yellow and blue, being located at the point of color balance on the color spectrum, which is midway between red and violet. It suggests harmony, health, balance, abundance, growth, expansion, and sympathy.

Blue stands for spirituality. This rainbow color makes our mind wander at oceans, seas and skies. It is also the color of spirituality and Divinity, brining about peace, calm, understanding and relaxation. Blue also enhances the easy communication flow.

Indigo is the color of infinity and has the power of amplifying the depth and energy of blue. It also symbolizes the bridge between the finite and the infinite, meaning spiritual attainment, wisdom, self-mastery, intuition, psychic abilities, and sudden awareness at the same time.

Violet is considered to be the highest element of spiritual mastery, being the highest specialization of light. It is the merging of blue and red, therefore having numerous meanings, such as sorrow, high spiritual attainment, love for humanity, idealism, imagination, and inspiration. It also integrates other energies for healing purposes.

As you can see, every rainbow color has its own special meaning. If you ever wondered why you have a certain favorite color, know you know why. You also know what to wear, for instance, if you find yourself in a difficult position. Rainbow colors can be of great help in a wide array of situations, so do not hesitate in profiting from their therapeutic use.
